Supervision

Supervision

I am a Provisional Teaching and Supervising Transactional Analyst, registered with UKATA. This means I can supervise TA trainees, CTA qualified Psychotherapists and Psychotherapists from other modalities.

The fee for a sixty minute session is £55.

I also have a Diploma in Supervision from CSTD in Bath and use Hawkins and Shohet’s seven eyed model of supervision and can supervise Counsellors and Counselling Students.

Supervision is a formal meeting where a therapist consults a more experienced practitioner. The primary focus is the welfare of the client but is also important in assisting the professional development of the supervisee including their continuing training, encouraging links between theory and practice and enhancing or honing their skills. As therapists we need to develop the ability to critically evaluate our interactions with clients and cultivate our ability to self-supervise.

I see the supervisory environment as a thoughtful and critical space where we can reflect on and explore the therapeutic relationship between client and therapist. Supervision enables the clinician to review their caseload and consider and monitor their reactions to their work in both a supportive and appropriately challenging atmosphere.
